Capsule Endoscopy at the Princess Grace Hospital in London

Capsule endoscopy is a new form of endoscopy available at the Princess Grace Hospital that is non-invasive, convenient and comfortable.

Capsule endoscopy uses a pill-sized, video-imaging, wireless capsule that is swallowed with some water.

Each capsule contains a camera, light source, batteries and transmitter.

Two types of capsule are available: the oesophageal capsule and the small bowel capsule.

Capsule endoscopy allows clinicians to investigate patients with known or suspected GI disorders, particularly conditions that may affect the oesophagus and small bowel.

Capsule endoscopy is also available from the Wellington Hospital in London
